What CoMiles costs

This is the beta model, not a promise that every CoMiles service will remain free forever. Our preferred first paid offering is an employer-sponsored commute programme, kept separate from what passengers contribute to drivers.

• The app: free during the beta.
• Booking fee: none.
• Commission on a contribution: none — CoMiles never touches the money.
• Cancellation charge: none. During the shadow rollout, qualifying late cancellations are explained in the Reliability Centre but do not pause offers.

What a seat costs

A passenger contributes toward the driver-chosen amount for their pickup-to-drop-off segment. CoMiles calculates the full-route maximum from energy, a versioned wear allowance, and an automatic FASTag toll estimate; divides it between every offered seat and the driver; then rounds down to ₹5. Wear is currently ₹0/km pending approval, parking is excluded, and an unavailable INR toll estimate adds ₹0. The driver can make the ride free or enter any ₹5-step amount up to the maximum.

The ride records the policy version, regional energy rate and either a CoMiles efficiency default or a bounded driver-reported figure when it is published. The passenger’s itemised quote is fixed when the request is sent.

The ceiling is the point

The calculated amount is a server-enforced ceiling, not just a warning. The route service stores a short-lived, caller-bound toll quote, and the ride command rechecks its route and expiry so a modified client cannot invent a toll to raise the maximum. Driver detours are not charged to passengers. The selected rupee amount is scaled down for shorter segments and fixed when the passenger requests.

How the money moves

Directly, by UPI or cash, between the passenger and the driver. CoMiles records only that a settlement was acknowledged — or disputed — and nothing about the amount, the reference, or the account.

No escrow, no refunds, no chargebacks. CoMiles cannot reverse or recover a direct payment, and does not hold customer funds at any point.

If pricing ever changes

Any future CoMiles fee would need a published price, any required Terms update, and notice before it applied. An optional consumer convenience plan may come later, but paying CoMiles would not raise a driver’s contribution ceiling or buy a higher place in ride results.
