Carpooling in India · Mobile app only
CoMiles Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-11.1. CoMiles facilitates peer-to-peer ride coordination and is not a transport operator or payment intermediary.
1. Platform and relationship
CoMiles is a technology platform that helps adults coordinate private, peer-to-peer carpools for daily and intercity journeys. CoMiles is not a driver, passenger, transport operator, taxi service, employer, insurer, emergency service, bank, or payment intermediary.
A ride is arranged directly between its driver and passengers. CoMiles is not a party to their transport arrangement and does not guarantee that a ride will be offered, accepted, completed, safe, lawful, suitable, or available at a particular time.
2. Key terms
- Driver means the account holder who is already planning a private journey and offers available seats.
- Passenger means the account holder who requests or is accepted for a seat in that journey.
- Ride means the private journey described in the app, including one-time, recurring, or intercity journeys.
- Cost contribution means the amount a passenger and driver agree will contribute toward the reasonable costs of that journey.
3. Eligibility and account
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of accepting these Terms.
- Use your own account, provide accurate and current information, and do not impersonate another person.
- Keep your phone, identity-provider account, device, and one-time codes secure. Tell support promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
- CoMiles may ask you to complete specific profile, work-email, phone, vehicle, or provider checks. A completed check is only the signal described in the app—not a general background check or guarantee.
4. Driver and vehicle obligations
A driver is solely responsible for confirming that the journey and vehicle comply with applicable law and insurance terms. CoMiles does not verify that an insurance policy covers a particular shared journey.
- Hold a valid driving licence and remain medically and legally fit to drive.
- Own the vehicle or have the owner’s express authority to use it for the ride, and remain its principal driver.
- Maintain valid registration, PUC, fitness or inspection documents, permits where required, and insurance appropriate for occupants and third-party liability.
- Use a roadworthy private passenger vehicle, provide no more than the lawful number of seats, and ensure every offered seat has a working seat belt.
- Do not offer a private vehicle commercially or for profit where a permit or other approval is required.
5. Private, non-commercial cost sharing
A driver should offer only a journey they were already planning. Any contribution must remain a reasonable share of genuine journey costs and must not create profit or turn the activity into an unlicensed commercial transport service.
CoMiles may show a suggested amount or estimate, but it is not a regulated fare, invoice, tax opinion, or guarantee of legal compliance. Until a counsel-approved contribution policy or cap is published, each participant remains responsible for assessing the proposed amount and applicable law.
6. Requests, acceptance, changes, and cancellation
- Describe the route, timing, seats, vehicle, stops, luggage expectations, pickup flexibility, and other material details accurately.
- A request is not confirmed until the driver accepts it in the app. Participants should reconfirm important details before departure.
- Use the in-app cancellation or no-show controls promptly and provide an accurate reason. Reliability signals may reflect eligible cancellations and no-shows.
- CoMiles does not guarantee a replacement ride, reimbursement, or compensation when a ride is delayed, changed, cancelled, or not completed.
7. Safety, location, and emergencies
Choose co-riders carefully, follow road and seat-belt laws, and do not drive while impaired, distracted, ill, or dangerously fatigued. Trip sharing, in-app calling, reports, blocks, and SOS are additional tools; they cannot prevent harm or replace emergency services.
In immediate danger or after an accident, contact local emergency services first. Exact locations are restricted by ride stage and relationship, but any person who receives a valid time-limited trip link may view the information available through that link until it expires or is revoked.
8. Direct payment
Passengers pay drivers directly by UPI or cash. CoMiles may record a driver receipt, passenger acknowledgement, or dispute, but that record is not bank confirmation. CoMiles does not collect, hold, process, guarantee, reconcile, reverse, escrow, or refund ride payments.
9. Prohibited conduct
CoMiles has zero tolerance for abusive users and objectionable content. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or close accounts, preserve evidence, or report conduct to authorities where appropriate.
- Commercial transport using a private vehicle without every legally required permit or approval.
- Harassment, threats, stalking, fraud, unsafe driving, illegal goods, intoxication, or misuse of emergency features.
- Discrimination based on religion, caste, disability, gender identity, sex, or another protected characteristic. CoMiles’ expressly supported women-controlled safety preference is the only product-provided gender restriction.
- Publishing another person’s private information, precise location, messages, images, or ride details without authority.
- Scraping protected services, bypassing controls, probing another account, automating abusive requests, manipulating ratings or trust signals, or introducing malware.
10. Content, communication, and intellectual property
You remain responsible for profile, ride, message, image, review, report, and other content you submit. You grant CoMiles a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, display, transmit, secure, back up, and moderate that content only as needed to operate, protect, and improve the service or comply with law.
If you see objectionable content or an abusive user, use the in-app Report or Block & report control. A report is sent to CoMiles for moderation; blocking removes that user’s content from your feed and closes applicable discovery and communication paths for your account. Do not use reports for emergencies—contact local emergency services first.
CoMiles branding, software, interface, and original materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. These Terms do not transfer ownership or permit copying, resale, reverse engineering, or misuse except where law does not allow that restriction.
11. Trust signals and third-party services
Ratings, ride history, work-email status, LinkedIn context, phone status, and vehicle states are limited decision-support signals. They do not guarantee identity, employment, ownership, fitness, insurance, conduct, or safety.
Identity, maps, places, calling, notifications, SMS, monitoring, and download services are provided partly by third parties under their own terms and availability. CoMiles is not responsible for an external service’s independent acts, outages, or policies to the extent permitted by law.
12. Moderation, restriction, and review
CoMiles may remove content, limit a feature, reject a ride, preserve relevant evidence, suspend an account, or report conduct where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect people or the platform, address fraud or security risk, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.
You may ask support at support@comiles.in to review a moderation or account decision. Include only the minimum relevant record identifier and context. A review does not guarantee reversal or a particular response time.
13. Beta availability and changes
CoMiles is currently distributed as beta software. Features may be unavailable, inaccurate, delayed, changed, or withdrawn. Keep the app and operating system current, review permissions, and install only from the official links published by CoMiles.
CoMiles may update these Terms. Material changes receive a new version and may require renewed acceptance before marketplace features can be used.
14. Liability and non-excludable rights
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, each driver and passenger is responsible for their own decisions, conduct, vehicle, property, route, legal compliance, and direct payment. CoMiles does not accept liability for a participant’s acts or omissions, accidents, injury, loss, missed travel, or indirect or consequential loss arising from a peer-to-peer ride.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Any limitation is subject to those mandatory protections.
15. Account closure and retention
Account deletion is available in the mobile app. The workflow removes profile personal data, CoMiles-hosted assets, messages, saved places, and the authentication account. Deletion of call-related provider data may complete asynchronously and is tracked through an opaque provider task handle.
Narrow anonymised safety and direct-settlement evidence may be retained for 12 months, then erased automatically. That evidence excludes account, profile, ride, booking, contact, message, precise location, media, free-text report, fare amount, and payment-reference identifiers.
16. Governing law, notices, and contact
These Terms are governed by applicable Indian law, subject to mandatory consumer protections and any forum required by law. CoMiles is operated by COMILES PRIVATE LIMITED, a Private Limited Company with CIN U52290HR2026PTC148996 and registered office at Basement, Shop No. 1, MIE Part B, Delhi Rohtak Road, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Haryana – 124507.
Questions and notices may be sent to support@comiles.in. CoMiles' Grievance Officer is Harshit Garg, Director, contactable at support@comiles.in. Founder enquiries may be sent to founders@comiles.in. No customer-care or grievance phone number is currently available; publishing a dedicated company-controlled number remains a production-launch compliance input.
